PALM BEACH // ORLANDO // FORT LAUDERDALE // ATLANTA – USA Trip #7

This was my first time in the Eastcoast. Since I’ve been to the Westcoast several times, it was time for me to discover the other side of the USA. I’ve been visiting Florida, the Carribean and Georgia.
First Stop was MIAMI … Sunshine State of Florida

Second Stop was NASSAU BAHAMAS … Island Country of the Atlantic Ocean

Third Stop was KEY WEST … „The Conch Republic“, „Southernmost City in the Continental United States“
Fourth Stop was the Everglades and Fort Myers

As I told you in my last travelpost Fort Myers we left right after breakfast to Atlanta, Georgia where some of my relatives live. It was an 8 hours drive! We stayed there for 10days. I took a lot of pictures but I can’t post them because my relatives are on them too and we didn’t really visited any places. We went out eating and shopping (there are so many malls and outlets in Atlanta), visited other relatives. I enjoyed the time with my relatives because I haven’t seen them for years. Even my relatives from Texas and my dreamstate California came to Atlanta, also my grandma from Vietnam was there. So it was a big family reunion. It was a great time being with my relatives. Some of them I’ll see again soon here in Germany because they’ll be traveling to Germany for their first time. So excited.

After spending an unforgettable time with my family it was time to leave. We drove back to Florida. Our first stop was Palm Beach. It’s such a beautiful county with beautiful roads and mansions. We drove along the beachstreet with an amazing view but we weren’t lucky with the weather, it was wet and stormy which you can tell from the pictures, the flag on the beach was red. So we couldn’t swim in the ocean. We just walked around the beach but it was so windy that we stayed only for a short time.

Time for us to drive to the next stop Orlando. We stayed here for only one night because it was just a stopover to go shopping in the outlets. I don’t like visiting places like Seaworld because the animals aren’t kept appropriate to the species or Disneyland.
After Orlando we left for Fort Lauderdale to enjoy some more days at the beach. We also visited the biggest outlet mall of the world called Sawgrass Mills. There are over 350 stores and we spend a whole day in that outlet. You can get really good deals there so it’s definetely worth the ride.

After almost four weeks we had to say goodbye to the Eastcoast! We had an amazing time and we’ll be back for sure! I hope you enjoyed my USA travelposts :)

WELCOME to KEY WEST – USA Trip #5

This was my first time in the Eastcoast. Since I’ve been to the Westcoast several times, it was time for me to discover the other side of the USA. I’ve been visiting Florida, the Carribean and Georgia.

Next Stop was supposed to be in CocoCay, Bahamas but the weather was really bad and the waves were so high that the MAJESTY of the SEAS couldn’t land on the island. We kind of knew that because it rained so much at night and the ship was shaking a lot. The captain said it was for our safety and he was right. So we had to stay on the ship in the ocean. I was so disappointed and sad because the island is so beautiful and I wanted to spend some time at the beach with the barbeque which was planned. On board we just did some shopping, went to the pool, did some sports, watched shows and ate a lot.

This is what we’ve missed :( CocoCay, Bahamas (Photo courtesy of RoyalCaribbean). Surrounded by the gentle, translucent waters of the Bahamas chain lies the secluded island of CocoCay®, an eco-certified private destination. Reserved exclusively for cruise ship guests, this 140-acre tropical paradise was awarded a Gold-Level Eco-Certification by Sustainable Travel International™ for its environmentally friendly activities and tours. With its white-sand beaches and spectacular surroundings, CocoCay is a wonderland of adventures.

The next day we arrived in KEY WEST at 10:00 am. Luckily the weather was better but still it was windy and cloudy.

The first night was good although I got seasick but the medcine I took against it, made me slept like a baby. Can’t wait to get off the ship.

Finally off the ship MAJESTY of the SEAS! Let’s go sightseeing in Nassau :)

Left: MAJESTY of the SEAS // Right: Disney Cruise Line

We went on an excursion with the GLASS BOTTOM BOAT. We booked the tickets on board and paid 60$/person for a 1,5 hour tour. They took us to the Nassau Port which is a protected sea life site by the Bahamian government. We saw  amazing celebrity homes f.e. of Oprah Winfrey, Michael Jordan, Tiger Woods Ex-Wife, Chuck Norris, Sean Connery and more. We saw numerous different species of sea life under the boat, from fish to anemones of many different kinds. The complimentary rum punch they served on the boat was so good. I didn’t take a lot of pictures, for more impressions you can watch my videos on YouTube.

The ATLANTIS, Nassau Paradise Island

OPRAH WINFREY’s House with a Guesthouse as big as her house

There’s a glass on the bottom of the boat so you can see the fishes swimming. The water was really clear.

On the way back you can see the MAJESTY of the SEAS right in the middle left!

Waiting for the Watertaxi to take us to the ATLANTIS

The ATLANTIS is a really huge – Paradise Island

Beautiful BEACH <3

Can you see the turquoise water? So pretty! Please take me back there again!!!

World Famous Senor Frogs Restaurant, Bar and Souvenir Shop with unforgettable fun, delicious food and thirst quenching drinks right on the oceanfront!

KISS the FROG

We then went down Bay Street and experienced the sights, sounds and smells of the busiest tourist street in the Bahamas. Bay Street is a one-way street and is a constant traffic jam.
